Dark Places Writing Competition

So the magazine will have a writing competition in, which I am quite excited about. I will be very specific in what I am looking for, although all are free to enter for now. I advise reading this article http://akturner.hubpages.com/hub/The-Mechanics-of-Short-Story-Writing-The-Ending. It will help you understand the mechanics of writing a short story that will appear decent to me, the editor. Winners will win publication in the magazine and the best story will earn its writer £50. So why not give it a shot. http://www.dark-places.co.uk/

Dark Places Magazine

So I have decided to start a new venture which I am quite excited about, a Sci Fi, Fantasy and Horror magazine available on Kindle. The E-Zine will be called Dark Places Magazine. The website is currently under construction, however we already have over fifty likes and it is rising fast. This is a new project as I try and keep the faith and uphold christian values whilst working in a secular market, with secular authors. This is going to be a real test of faith for me, but I intend to use 25% of the profits from sale of the magazines for charitable causes. It will be a fight, but I have made a list of God honoring values that I will not stray from. These will also be displayed on the website once it is up and running, I start working with the web designer next week. There will be a Dark Places writing competition as well, this will help us find new talent, here is the website: www.dark-places.co.uk

an update from Bradford: A waiting game

I always find it helpful to do to updates every now and then on how the Novels are going and what is happening with them at the moment. My first novel Nowhere to be Found is currently with a close friend being read through. My second Novel Unspent convictions is with another friend. Two Brothers, a novella I am publishing through Hubpages is doing very well and the parts I have written so far appear to be quite popular with readers. If you are interested, here is the link http://akturner.hubpages.com/hub/A-novella-Two-Brothers. I should have covers mocked up by September for the other two books. This is an exciting time, I can't wait to get Nowhere to be Found back from the editors. In the mean time, keep following Two Brothers, Much love people! Keep reading, and I'll keep hubbing, blogging and writing.
